Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am the librarian for an elementary school with a literature and fine arts focus, in a community where 93 percent of our students are at or below the poverty level.

My students need to learn how to find, use, and deliver information. They are no longer excited by the idea of creating posters and 3-d exhibits. My students do love to see photos and videos of themselves but they don't have the cameras to create these videos.

Videos made by the children, to present information, would be an exciting and effective way to deliver the information they have accessed and to increase their self-esteem and presentation skills. I am asking for 3 camcorder to get this project underway!

Your help will make it possible for my students to be excited about learning and presenting information. They will be able to present information with videos which is an ability that is very relevant to today's youth.
