I am a 5th grade teacher in a high poverty inner city school. I have the same group of students for the entire day and teach Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Even though there is a lack of technology and resources at our school, we are working hard to ensure that we are prepared for middle school. Our big goal poster on the front wall reminds us to work hard every single day. Everyday, our lessons require us to use an overhead projector with black and white transparencies. Unfortunately, once every three to four weeks, the overhead light bulb burns out. In our high poverty district, there is not enough funding to supply overhead light bulbs and the teacher is left with the cost. Instead of asking for funding for infinite amounts of light bulbs, we are proposing for an LCD projector. Not only is this solution more environmentally friendly, but the learning experience will be enhanced with powerpoint presentations, color photos, and hyperlinks that allow us to access the Internet as a whole class. Your help will ensure that my students learning is not interrupted with technical malfunctions. You will make it possible for our entire class to meet our big goal and move on to middle school.
My students need an LCD projector for an enhanced learning experience.
The cost of this proposal is $1,098, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment  ."

I can't fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation
to this project. It is wonderful to see that we all share the same vision for reaching
children. The LCD projector that you have funded will be used daily to enhance the lesson plans that I create for my students. I will be able to introduce new material that can now include hyperlinks, sound effects, and video clips in order to support our classroom of English language learners.
