Reading is fun!!! I teach at a high-need, Title 1 school. We are a brand new school with limited resources. Education budgets have taken a huge hit nation wide and we are no exception.

Our school has a limited selection of "class set" books and only a few of the titles are appropriate for 3rd grade. There are four full time 3rd grade teachers and numerous other staff members that work with the 3rd grade students. This is great for the students but makes choosing reading material a challenge.

I am asking for two class sets of books. "Revolutionary War on Wednesday" and "George Washington's Socks" are grade level appropriate AND integrate reading and Social Studies.

Funding this project will make a tremendous impact on our students. By having appropriate, interesting reading material, our students will have a better chance of success.
