My students need 9 Social Studies supplies, including a Civil War book set, a Social Studies DVD Quiz Game Series, a set of Historical Nonfiction CD Read-Alongs and a Civil War Photo Activity Card Set.

I am a newly established 4th Grade Social Studies teacher in a poverty-ridden Title I school system.

Our county does not have the necessary funds to help supply our classrooms with supplemental items, and because the majority of our families are at or below poverty level, they do not have the means to help either.

The items that I have listed: Liberty's Kids DVDs, map skill activities, pictures, Civil War information and stories, will help my students see what it was like during the hardest times in our country's history. The map skills books will give my students the opportunity to learn to use a map correctly. We currently have no way of practicing our map skills in class. We have yet to receive our workbooks to help reinforce our learning of the materials taught.

By helping our class, you will open doors for these children...they will learn many wonderful things about their country and how it was begun.
