I teach Anatomy & Physiology honors to 156 energetic, creative, and curious 11th and 12th grade students at a school where our academic focus is to improve reading proficiency in science.

I am always looking for ways to make learning fun and meaningful for my students! Since most of our science budget goes toward dissection specimens and equipment (the essentials), there is very little left for creative projects. Not in my class! My anatomy students will become experts on one of the 11 body systems and create and design t-shirts to represent the organs, muscles, nerves, and tissues found in that region of their body.

What I need is the art supplies - fabric markers, fabric "puffy" paint, and glue - to create these original works of art! I will fund the t-shirts and my students will furnish the imagination. I have various reference books, anatomy textbooks, and resources so their design is informative and factual. On our "inside-out" day we will wear our t-shirts and teach others about the amazing human body! The t-shirt will be graded on the presentation of the following: professional in appearance, easy to read, neatly organized, informational, correct grammar and spelling, illustration authenticity, and creativity.

Your kind donation will make it possible for my students to engage their peers in understanding how their bodies work and why it is so important to care for it! They will have so much fun with this activity they will forget they are learning!
