My students need two books about street signs, easy reader survival signs cards, easy reader everyday words, and a social studies photo library.

I am an Intervention Specialist who serves students with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. These students are in the 6th and 7th grade.

I know right now the economic problems facing people in America today. I am in a fairly new classroom and we are getting more and more students every year. As a new teacher I am limited on my resources. I am asking for supplies that I will be able to use over and over again. It is very important for my students to learn about the street signs and community signs that they will be seeing everyday in the community.

My students need to learn what the different street signs around the community mean. When they go out into the community it is important that they know when they see a stop sign that they stop. The resources that I am asking for will help me teach the students these skills. The books will allow me to read to the students, the easy reader cards will allow the students to be able to see the sign and then hear the sign when working independently. Then the social studies cards will allow us to have group discussions and then work with them in a game like setting. All of these will allow for my students to learn the community signs that they need to know and learn them in different ways.

I love teaching my students, as do any teachers. I am hoping that you will take interest in my students' future. I can not get all the supplies and resources that my students would benefit from. This resource will help my students in the future and also my future students.
