Field Glasses for Field Work

My students need 12 pairs of study binocular field glasses to help them get the most out of our outdoor science Fridays.

I teach a combination 4/5 classroom of 26 students in a lower income school. About half of them are English Language Learners from all points of the globe.

My students love environmental science. Measuring trees and doing leaf rubbings or examining bugs can be done across all language and financial barriers.

We go to a marsh near our school every Friday and field glasses would allow such an exciting window into that world. Picture a child with a language barrier, glasses glued to her eyes, sharing a look at a far away bird or leaf or bug with a fellow student. See them draw that picture together, finding words to share as they share the glasses.

With your help, those field glasses could empower all my students to be better scientists, citizens and friends.
