I teach 7th Grade Language Arts in a low-income area of Southern Maryland. I have students that are reading just below grade-level and gifted students.

We have a wonderful group of students who have a great desire to learn, but are limited on resources. Many of the students come from impoverished and broken homes. School is often one of their only stable environments.

The mini white boards will help students to work cooperatively in groups or pairs to develop answers to questions. This allows the teacher to assess their understanding of the topic immediately and address any confusion so that the students can master the skill.

You will make it possible for my students to become active learners in the classroom. These materials will allow the students to take ownership of their education.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
