The extra year they spend with me helps them grow socially and emotionally so they are ready for the rigors of first grade.
We often work in small groups in our classroom. My students are just learning to read and write, and it is imperative that they have real-life experiences in the classroom. For this reason, I would like to purchase a digital cameras to use in our classroom. With this wonderful technology, the possibilities are endless. Some examples of how this could be used in the classroom are: creating an ABC book of things around our school by taking pictures of the objects; taking pictures of seasonal objects (falling leaves, spring flowers, etc.) and putting them at the top of a writing page to use as a story starter; and taking pictures of the students working in the classroom and posting them on the website so their parents can enjoy watching their children learn.
With your help, we will have access to four digital cameras. What a wonderful, fun learning experience! Thank you for your consideration.
