Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Learning English as a Second Language is challenging for the first and second graders at my high poverty school in North Carolina.

They are eager learners in a school where multimedia equipment is nearly nonexistent. "What do you mean that the caterpillar turns into a chrysalis?" they ask. If only I could project a movie downloaded from Discovery.com and SHOW them what I mean.

I have a personal laptop and the know-how to use multimedia to convey vocabulary and concepts to expand my students language experiences. What I lack is the means to project my lessons onto the pull-down screen over my board. An LCD projector would open up our ESL world!!!

Your contribution towards procuring a projector would have a powerful impact on student learning. I lovingly call my classroom Where The Wild Things Are in tribute to Maurice Sendak's prized book about Max. Please help my ESL students tame the unknown like Max did, through an LCD projector.
