"I teach a group of diverse and vibrant 5th grade students. We spend our days thinking and talking about lots of important ideas and we like to share them with each other. Many of my students are also working on developing their English skills as second language learners. As a class, we spend some of the time sitting at our desks doing work, but much of the instruction time is on the floor, with lots of discussion, both in whole group and in small group formats. Students also act as teacher and share information, both written and orally. This kind of interaction, in all subject areas, helps build language and literacy skills and reinforces concepts, especially for those students who are not yet fully English proficient. It also allows all students to share what they know and who they are, creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment. An easel that can be moved forward and back (on wheels) that is stable enough for a student to move without fear of collapse, would be ideal. My students would be able to use the easel both as a student and as a teacher. This easel has both whiteboard surfaces as well as hooks for chart paper, so the students can use the board for recording both temporary and more permanent tools for instruction. The double sided board will allow more than one student or group to access information at once. Thank you for considering helping our class. Our class is a vibrant place for learning, and with the help of an easel that was easy to use, stable and can be moved around, we can learn that much more. Your help will allow everyone in the class to be teacher and student.
My students need a double sided, wheeled easel to access material and fully participate in both the whole and small group setting.

Dear Jeannie & Martin, Steve & Lisa, Wendy, Marjo, Jennifer, Margaret and ethan,
I was thrilled today to hear that our easel project has been fully funded! I cannot wait to get to school tomorrow to tell my class! Thank you so much for contributing to the easel project. Having a new easel will make so many of our projects possible, as well as enabling the students to lead discussions and model good teaching strategies. We will be able to use it several times a day, in every academic area. This easel will be fundamental to our teaching and learning. Thank you again for your generosity. With gratitude, Ms. B.
