"I am a teacher at a vocational high school in Florida and have the honor of teaching many minority, low-income students in a special setting. My students are gifted children in a Pre-Advanced Placement (AP) Language Arts class.

My gifted learners are very resourceful and are lovers of knowledge. For fun, they research and learn about topics that interest them from American History to Quantum Physics. Because of their intense thirst for information, they know random facts and can incorporate them in their writings, but many times do not know how to give credit to the original sources. With this in mind, one of my greatest undertakings for the school year will be how to get my students the right tools to learn about MLA formatting in an effort to teach them how to avoid plagiarism. Unfortunately, with all the budget cuts, the school district is currently in debt and they cannot afford to pay for any additional books for the classroom. Consequently, I have come to Donorschoose for assistance. The donations will provide MLA Documentation Guides (handbooks) that are an essential part of the Pre-AP Language Arts curriculum.

Naturally, students will benefit greatly from the handbooks I am requesting because it will help them become successful in all their classes. With the vast amount of resources that are available now-a-days for students to access, they must learn how to correctly cite this information using MLA formatting; this gives them an understanding of how to give credit to outside sources and ultimately limits plagiarism: a major offense.

On the whole, your generous donations will make it possible for all of my students to have tools that will help them to become successful learners. HIDE

My students need 28 copies of the book "A Guide to MLA Documentation" by Joseph F. Trimmer. The cost of this proposal is $694, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
