Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach music to students in grades PreK through 8th grade in a urban school district. I see my students once a week for music. I have a diverse student population. My school is located in a low income area.

I rely on grants to fund my program as I don't have a budget .My students love to play the xylophones but I do not have a bass xylophone due to the high cost of a single instrument.

I need a bass xylophone to perform the bass xylophone parts in my percussion ensembles. This will give the ensemble a rich lower sound which is currently lacking and create an additional harmony part for songs we perform.

Your funding will purchase a bass xylophone that I cannot afford without your support. It is important to teach harmony in music and this instrument will help create harmony in my ensembles which is not there now.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
