We have many student's from low-income areas in our school. I try to do many extra field trips and activities throughout the year, because my student's do not have regular access to those kinds of hands-on activities. I also do a lot of theater-type activities. My students write in journals every day, but I would like to teach them to photo journal. This will provide them with a way to access what they have learned by the activities that we do in class and will teach them to reflect on their experiences.

There is no funding available in my school for this type of project and my student's are so excited to work in their journals this year.

A camera will allow me to take pictures everyday. I can take pictures of specific science experiments, field trips, class skits, etc. Then I can pass out the photos and have my students attach them to their journals and reflect on their experiences. The photos will encourage my children to write and help them remember what they have learned.

You will make it possible for my students to see and reflect on what they are learning. You will also help motivate them to write in their journals and to create lasting school memories.
