I have just begun my second year of educating the minds of our future leaders. As a beginning teacher, I lack some materials that I believe are vital for primary grades. No need to fear, your help will make it possible for every one of my students to receive the best education possible. I currently teach first grade in a community in Chicago. Most of my students are of African American descent and more than half of them receive free lunch. I am privileged to have the support of the majority of my parents but some things only money can buy. One of the more pressing needs in our classroom is a classroom carpet to support learning during reading and small group instruction. I believe that the Numbers & Letters Activity Carpet will aid in fostering an environment of community and self-management. My procedure as of now is using tape on the floor and my student’s line up in their rows. The students are doing a great job with following this procedure and I would love to reward them with an attractive carpet that they can enjoy and appreciate. The Numbers & Letters Activity Carpet from Lakeshore Learning will be a useful resource for my twenty five students. It comes with a 10 year guarantee and is both soil and fire resistant. I am sure that this carpet will meet the needs of my eager first grade students. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration of my request.
