Bass Guitar With No Sound

My students need a bass guitar amp for our concert band and our new jazz band.

I am an instrumental and vocal music teacher. The budget that I receive from my school is $0, so any materials I want for my students comes from fundraising and concerts. That money usually goes to the essentials, i.e. instrument repair, new music, etc. I like to try and get nicer classroom items that help the students take ownership in their music program as well. I have 65 students in my 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands. We have a Jazz Band and Concert Band that meet in the morning because our middle school schedule does not allow time for extra ensembles. I have 15 students in my Jazz Band and 45 in my Concert Band (which meet in the morning from 6:55-7:20).

Many of my students parents lack the financial ability to purchase or rent good quality instruments. I purchase "garage sale" instruments to rent out to my students for $25 for the year, but this fee does not even cover a simple repair. Our jazz band has a bass guitar but no amplifier. It is hard to justify purchasing one when I can get two or three other instruments.

I want a bass guitar amp for my classes, that will not only help out my jazz band sound, but will also allow two and three students in each grade level to learn how to play the bass guitar.

My students all want to learn music. I know this because their parents are definitely not making them. All materials in my classroom last a long time because it has to. We just do not have the financial resources to replace anything. This is just a start in helping my students experience something new and different
