My students need a combination of reference books and audio books with an emphasis on sports such as "Seabiscuit: An American Legend" and In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson."

I have a 5/6th grade library that has a high number of special needs and ESL students. We are a high-need community.

Many of my students are boys who have a special interest in sports. We need books and audio books on this topic, especially in nontraditional areas of sports such as fishing and golf. They are interested in these subjects both when they are doing reports and just to learn about them.

The Eyewitness books will be especially helpful in doing reports or learning about a sport for personal enjoyment. The audio books will help my lower level students who take an interest in sports. Almost all of the boys are interested in some form of sports but we do not have enough of them in the library.

Your help will ensure the students access to a wide variety of sports topics in both audio and book form. You will be empowering my boys and some girls to read topics they relate to and love.
