We have a fantastic group of potential musicians in our little elementary school! I teach grades 1-5 music education and we are in a small rural community with an even smaller music department budget.

I have one bass xylophone that I can transport and share between two buildings. When we do include the rich sound of the bass xylophone in our classroom arrangements, the students love the additional deep tones. Unfortunately, because of it's size and weight, it is very difficult to transport this instrument between buildings on any regular basis.

Adding this bass xylophone to our classroom instrument inventory would be a huge asset. The kids would be so excited to be able to play the bass xylophone on a regular basis. The musical opportunity for growth in them would be very, very much appreciated. We will use it in performance arrangements as well.

Funding for this project will better equip our students to see the value of hands on musical experiences. So much of their experience with music is electronic - we need to keep them playing live music as much as possible, and make it enjoyable for them as well! The aesthetic value of being involved in musical performance is indescribable, and, at times, even life shaping. You will feel good knowing that you have had a small part in keeping music alive and growing in the hearts of our young people.
