Despite their lack of literacy resources and experiences at home, my students absolutely love to listen to and read stories!
Although the holiday season is several months away, I want to make sure my students have something special to take home and celebrate with. The perfect gift for the children and their families would be beautiful, high-quality children's books in English and Spanish. Unfortunately, I do not have the personal funds to purchase these books. With your help, each child in my class could receive the gift of 3 great books - "David Gets in Trouble," "Curious George Takes a Job" and "If You Take A Mouse To School" in English or Spanish! With the books, I will provide a training for the families to teach them how to read the books with their children at home so that their learning and love of reading can continue to develop over our holiday break. By supporting this project, you are giving 20 wonderful children and their families an amazing holiday present - the gift of reading! My students need 14 copies of 3 excellent books ("David Gets in Trouble," "Curious George Takes a Job" and "If You Take A Mouse To School") each in English and Spanish to take home and cherish this holiday season!
