Thank you for taking the time to read about our laminating proposal. Our first grade classroom is in a rural, low socio-economic area. We have a wide range of abilities in our classroom, including speech and hearing disabilities, Special Education students, and English as a second language learners. In spite of these challenges, our classroom has come together as a family of learners and achievers!

One of the primary challenges in our district is having enough supplies for our classroom and our students. I want to be able to provide take-home practice materials for my students that I can make quickly, and economically. I also want to be able to make learning materials in our classroom that we can use immediately.

The Scotch Heat-Free Cold Laminator will provide perfect lamination without electricity! It is a safe, heat-free and easy-to-use resource that will enable me to make quick and sturdy learning resources. Study guides, word cards, math facts, etc. are just a few of the many ideas that this grant will support. With my students' help, we will be able to create, laminate, and send materials home the very same day! There's no warm-up waiting time, no fumes, no mess. This machine is also for posters, banners, artwork, signs, menus, maps and any other wonderful projects that my creative first graders can envision.

The ability to make these items in the classroom is invaluable. My students' ability use them immediately makes it an amazing tool that eliminates the waiting time of having to turn things in to the copy room and waiting to have them done. In addition, your support of this grant is going to enable me to make classroom resources that are durable and re-usable, this saves me time and money that could better be spent engaging with my students!
