My art room needs an LCD projector so my students can easily view the art DVDs, the PowerPoint presentations, and our student-made stop motion animated movies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach visual arts to grades 1st-5th at a terrific at-risk school. We are a mostly Hispanic population in a high needs area. Our students receive a world class education. Our students are bright and happy. I've worked here for the past 8 years. It is a great school. I love it.

Since visual arts involves viewing lots of art, I have over 100 PowerPoint presentations and several DVDs about famous artists, art styles, and cultures that I use to increase my student's knowledge of the visual arts, as well as inspire creativity in their art projects. We also have just recently started producing our own stop motion animated movies. Unfortunately, these wonderful resources and projects have to be viewed on a TV with a 27 inch screen. Sitting 15-20 feet away from the screen (as some student do) makes the experience less effective.

I'm asking for an LCD projector to make these resources and projects large enough for all to easily see. As an added bonus, an LCD projector will also enhance our art criticism sessions. Since the students will be able to easily see an artwork and all of it's details, they will be able to break it down into it's separate elements. (line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and space)

Your generous donation will make it possible for my students to have an even more incredible art experience by allowing all students the ability to see the art we are learning about.
