Grasping geography skills is easy with hands-on materials that engage every learner. I teach self-contained third grade in a school with a growing number of English Language Learners. Using hands-on materials helps my students become actively engaged so they can comprehend learning concepts.

Teaching young children about geography is a challenge when limited with maps alone. In my classroom I have a class set of atlases and worksheets that teach how to read maps, but they do not stimulate the students' interest or give them the practice they need to master these concepts.

Children love learning about the world around them and what better way to teach them then with hands-on materials. When students actually get to make models of landforms and U.S. and world maps they are truly active learners and will retain these skills more successfully. Playing Landforms & Mapping Bingo makes practicing these skills fun! The Landforms & Mapping Resource Box and Continents of the World Activity Chest gives students a chance to see 3-D props and replicas that represent key ideas. The inflatable wipe-off globe is a fun way to review world mapping skills. The book set gives students information at their level.

Your help will ensure that my students are learning to their full potential by interacting with hands-on materials to understand important geography concepts. These children will love learning about their world through these engaging learning materials.
