"I teach at a new all girls public school servicing high needs students. Our goal is to see each one of them attend college, as we are a 6-12 school hoping to mold these young women into future leaders.

Our students often lack basic supplies. Most students can just go out and buy a book from Barnes and Nobles to have a literature circle unit. My students and their families struggle with basic needs and a unit such as this is impossible without assistance.

My students deserve the opportunity that many already have, a flexible literature circle unit that allows each to choose a book to study. This grant makes the impossible, possible for my students. Independent study is crucial to the intellectual development of my students.

Your contribution will help these young women in a way that will forever stay with them. My students thirst for books to read. My students swarm to my classroom library for the chance to take out a book because sadly they really can not afford a new book on their own. You will open up my students to the wonderful dreams in these three books.

My students need 30 copies of "Persepolis", "Fallen Angels" and "Many Stones".

Dear josh, Grandma and Grandpa and Perry & Donna Golkin Family Foundation,

I am amazed by all who gave! Thanks so much. It may seem like a small thing, these books, but it will make a huge difference in the lives of my students. This funding came just in time and we are all excited here at the school at the prospect of being able to use these books. From the bottom of my heart, I thank all of you for this wonder opportunity for my students.

Again, I am almost speechless by the kindness shown here. I am humbled and inspired.

With gratitude,
Mr. W.
