My students want to work. I teach students with intellectual disabilities who are working on job skills in school so they are ready for employment when they graduate.

Currently my class does volunteer jobs for teachers in our building of collating and stapling resource packets for their classes. We currently have one heavy duty stapler and hole punch. The class has decided they would like to increase our volunteer options and would like to take on more work from neighboring businesses. We need faster equipment in order to increase our output of work.

The solution is to purchase electric stapler and hole puncher. This will not only make their work go more quickly, but it makes students more marketable to employers due to increased knowledge of office equipment.

Your help will make it possible for my students to have greater experience with office work and we will be able to work with community partners to hopefully employ one of more of my students after high school. This is the goal for everyone to feel like they are important and useful in our society.
