My students need 10 packs of notary seals, 24 vivid dry erase markers, and Unifix cubes to replicate color patterns and count the letters in their names.

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a high-need community. Many of our students are from low socio-economic families (we are a Title I school) and we have many ELL students (i.e. Spanish, Bosnian, Russian, Iraqi,Burmese, etc.)

Kindergrtners LOVE talking about themselves and being the center of attention. Having supplies for every student to be a V.I.P. would be an extremely powerful learning tool.

The resources needed for this activity include: multi-colored dry erase markers for spelling names on the whiteboard, unifix cubes for matching patterns, and notary seals for VIP "badges". All students names are put into a container. Each day, one name is drawn out. This person is our V.I.P. As the V.I.P, students will be the line leader and special teacher helper all day long. This gives students a sense of responsibility and positive self-image. However, the learning goes even deeper! Students are learning patterning skills, one on one correspondence counting skills, spelling skills, addition skills, and patterning skills ALL IN A 10 minute activity!

Your help will make it possible for my students to have the "cool" supplies that this activity needs in order to grab and KEEP the attention of my students.
