"My first grade sweeties need your help. They are very bright, however; due to budget cuts in our state the lack of supplies are high. My students love learning about science and this project would allow them to expand their understanding of energy and weather.

While we were studying weather, my sweeties sparked an interest in hurricanes. Using the books requested and making various art activities, my students will learn that an average hurricane generates enough energy to supply the entire United States with electricity for several months. It's those strong winds that produce energy.

With the books and art supplies requested, my students will learn that energy can change from one form to another.

Your help will ensure that my students will make connections to weather and energy. They will learn that energy takes different forms, including light, heat, sound and electricity.

My students need 15 books and construction paper to make various art activities such as a lighthouse which produces light for ships at sea. The cost of this proposal is $335, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."

Dear Progress Energy and Bank of America,
THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU! My students were so excited to learn that their project had been funded! We talked about ALL the art supplies and most of all the WONDERFUL books that will soon fill our classroom library. Recently when reading a book about weather and energy, my sweeties became very interested in how weather can affect energy. We talked about electricity and how it has changed lives today. Through the invention of electricity we now have lights to read by, computers to help us research information and we even discussed how our large lighthouses powered by electricity guide ships at sea. We also talked about how energy can come in various forms. As our project stated, the children in our classroom come from all walks of life and with your help we can now put together a project that will allow them to learn about weather and energy as it happens around them. More than words can express, your help is appreciated. May God richly bless you for blessing us!

With gratitude,
Ms. L.

Dear Progress Energy and Bank of America,
What a wonderful surprise! My sweeties were so excited to learn that their project was funded! Recently while reading a book about energy, my students became interested when I said, "Do you think energy can come in various forms?" It was then that we decided to put together this project. NOW with your help, we can explore energy and its various forms.
Your help is truly appreciated! May God richly bless your company for blessing us!

With gratitude,
Ms. L.
