I teach earth and physical science to about 180 middle school students in a school of about 900 students.

Every year there are many lab experiences that I would like to have my students perform but I am limited in supplies.

Ring stands are essential to many labs, such as testing earth materials holding capacity, and demonstrating the unequal heating of different materials. With the limited number of ring stands I have I now do these labs as demonstrations or rotate large groups through small stations.

With 12 new ring stands my students would be able to perform their own experiments and gain deeper understanding of the concepts as well as the basic skills of scientific study.
