From Chalkboards to Whiteboards

I teach 2nd grade to a group of very eager learners. Our school is in a highly impoverished area, so many of my students do not have the same opportunities many others enjoy. Even so, they come to school excited to learn new things.

Our school is quite old and is only equipped with chalkboards. The chalk dust has proved to be bothersome to many of the students as well as to myself. I have had to cover these boards with paper to reduce the allergens in our classroom.

By adding a large whiteboard to the front of our class, I can once again write things in a place that all my students can see and refer to throughout the lesson. Individual whiteboards are also needed to help further students' learning. These boards would be used during spelling and writing exercises, as well as math activities. These activities will allow all students to respond at once using their writing skills.

Your help will allow these students to be able to participate even more in their own education. They will be able to see better and respond with the knowledge they are gaining. Your contribution can make a huge impact.
