I teach a class of 19 students in a growing area of town. Many of my students come from households where English is not the native language. Many of the students speak little to no English in 2nd Grade.

Many of my students have either just arrived in the United States or have grown up in a house where English is not spoken. Without constant exposure to English, many students will struggle in a school where English is spoken all day long.

If I had access to Picture Dictionaries in many languages, I could help my student transition from their native language to English. Many of the books include links to the Internet so that they (and I) can hear the pronunciation spoken for them. This will allow me to help my students reach their full potential and strengthen their knowledge of the English language.

With your support, I will be able to help my future students as well as OTHER students in my school that may need a little more assistance. We have a CCT Teacher at our school that works closely with our ESOL population and she would LOVE to have access to some of the books when needed. In all honesty, you will be helping HUNDREDS of children.
