As a school counselor, I foster and promote moral and performance character school-wide. My school recently adopted the Character Always program which is a school-wide positive behavior program aligned with the Six Pillars of Character. All students at the school take part in school guidance lessons revolving around the Six Pillars of Character and are reinforced for not only academic achievements, but their character as well.

School reform has put high demands to solely focus on academics while students are at school, leaving out important skills centered around social, emotional, and character development. Employers want future employees to embrace not only knowledge, but character.

The resources needed are materials and reinforcements centered around character development to make the Character Counts program the focal of the school's culture. Specifically teacher Character Counts resource books, Character Counts Bulletin Board sets/posters, tangibles indicating positive behavior, and childrens books highlighting acts of character-trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

Donations will foster and promote moral as well as performance character within our students will prepare students to be strong contributors to society!
