Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have a class of eager students in a high-need community in Texas. We're also a bilingual class and over 90 % of my kids are on free lunch.

I have a bunch of eager to learn kids and I am eager to teach them as well. I wish I had more time in the day to teach them all that they need. But sadly we are limited to 7 hours a day. I know I need to improve and increase my kids vocabulary. Social studies is exactly where vocabulary can be enriched.

That is why these social studies centers and vocabulary cards will be essential in their learning. The centers will increase vocabulary as well as promote socialization among the children. Like they say, two birds with one stone.

Throw that stone our way, won't you? That stone will aid them this year as well as create the trickle down effect needed for future learning. We need to get the studying down but the socializing as well for Social Studies.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
