The service club that I sponsor has no budget with which to work. All activities are sponsored through strict volunteer basis without any funds. We have no budget to purchase a camera to take pictures of our activities. These activities are teaching my students how to become leaders in their community. In order to help the club to grow it is necessary to document the efforts and to create a scrapbook to share with other students. The school is situated in a rural county with a high-poverty rate. Students are facing many challenges outside of the school as well as inside school. Organizations such as these which provide them with positive interactions with leadership training are essential to helping them gain an advantage they do not currently possess.

My students are tremendously interested in attracting others to the club in order to increase the level of service projects we can accomplish. We do not have a camera to provide images to others and to create a scrapbook.

The officers, and in particular, the historian seek to increase the size and scope of the service activities that our club sponsors. Having a camera and printer to document our activities will help us get the word out to others. Teaching students to become leaders and to donate their time to their community will make a great difference in our community and most importantly in our school.

You will empower my students to not only make history but to document it as well. These students need a chance to excel which this grant will provide them.
