My students need 15 minutes of FAME. I teach 7 through 9th grade language arts in a small rural town. Hollywood seems a long way off for most of them. I want to bring the big screen to them by writing a script and filming a movie using them as actors. In order to a accomplish this, I am requesting a digital camcorder, digital camera and play scripts. Each of these materials will be used to create a student movie project. All students can be involved in filming production one way or another. Not only will this build language arts skills, but also cooperation and problem solving skills. Academy Awards- here we come!

We are facing budget cuts in our district this year. Classroom budgets have been cut, as well as supplies. My budding actors need your help to get the show on the road.

We need a camcorder to film and digital camera to help with the photojournalism part. With these items at our fingertips, we can use valuable class time to work on our project. Students can write, direct, edit and get a final cut if we have the right tools. Most of our students have never experienced film making, let alone starring in a film from the ground up. What an opportunity for rural students from Kansas to be a part of a Big Screen project.

Get the popcorn ready- with your help you just might be watching our class-made movie someday. Thanks for helping my students see past their backyard into the glamor and glitz of Hollywood.
