Special Ed. Needs Back to Basics Games

My students need 1 game table to aide in eye- hand coordination and social skills.

I am a Special Education teacher for 3rd/4th/5th graders with learning disabilities in New York City. I am seeking funding for a classic multi-game table where my students will practice eye-hand coordination and social skills.

Each day, my students have "Project Time", where they get to choose an activity in the classroom that they enjoy. Many of my students receive Occupational Therapy to improve both gross and fine motor skills. All of my students need practice working with others and the rules of fair play.

I remember playing classic games like Nok Hockey, Foosball, Air Hockey and Ping Pong for hours long before the world of video games. My students have lost a bit of this reality play and the joy of real eye-hand coordination activities. Bringing these games into our classroom will benefit my students socially and physically.

Thank you for supporting a project that will bring old fashioned fun into the classroom, while sneaking in social lessons (shhhh!)
