"Middle School students learn so much better with hands-on and visual models of unfamiliar concepts. Physical and Earth Science can be fascinating! My 6th grade Science students are in a high-poverty public school that has been academically under-achieving in state standards. My kids will benefit from educational opportunities outside of a textbook.

Our students do not have textbooks they can take home for the school year, and are high-need students. A large portion of our students are basic or below basic on standardized testing. But they are interested in science! I have seen that hands-on and visual models for my students are the best teaching methods.

This model of faults will teach my students several important state standards they need to learn, and will also be a jumping off point for other physical science and earth science concepts. It is a manipulative that can be demonstrated for them, and that students may use to repeat for themselves.

Your assistance will make a difference in the education of many students - about 100 this school year, and many more in the future years! :o> Please help me reach every one of our bright but deprived children!

My students need a Fault Demonstration Model and Physical Science Activity Book.

Dear Arkansas Community Foundation SIMS Grant Program and JPMorgan Chase,
Thank you so much for contributing to the education of our children here in Texarkana! My students have enjoyed working with the fault line models that you sent to us. I really believed it has clarified some easily misunderstood concepts. We also received the book of experiments that we requested. The students love engaging in hands-on methods of learning, and this book has many great suggestions for us to use. We truly appreciate all that you are doing to help the students gain from their time in the classroom!

With gratitude,
Mrs. C.

Dear Arkansas Community Foundation SIMS Grant Program and JPMorgan Chase,
Our classes sincerely thank you for the assistance you have provided to us so that these students will be able to fully understand some basic Earth Science principals by visualization and manipulation of the learning materials. There are a number of individual and cooperative lessons in mind for the students to use these educational resources on! We appreciate all that you are doing to promote great student learning! :o>

With gratitude,
Mrs. C.
