"Growing from girls to women!

I currently teach science in Florida, and among being a teacher I am also a club sponsor. The club is for junior and senior females in high school. The young women are all preparing for college and the club is designed to assist them in their preparation. The goal of the club is to grow mentally, and emotional to get ready for the real world".

"I'm mean and say what I want, but I don't like myself."

The girls in our club all face obstacles, both in school and their personal lives. The club is meant to give them strength. The book,Letters to a Young Sister, lets the girls know that they are not alone in their struggles. Other girls are facing the same obstacles and have the same questions.

Along with schedules speakers, community service, and journals; the book will reinforce the efforts of the club.

The clubs motto is: "The decisions you make today determine the life you lead tomorrow". Help these girls make the best decisions, so that they can have a successful tomorrow.

My students need 40 copies of the book "Letters to a Young Sister".

Dear Causecast, Sheila Jenca, Susan Goldberg, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
"This book changed my life", "Wow, I didn't think it would make me cry, but it felt good to read about someone else who feels the same way that I do". These were some of the girls feelings about the book. Most of the girls within the club finished the book within a week. The girls praised the stories and how it relates to their life. Many had never read a non-fictional book that related to them on such a parallel level.

Your donations have given our young ladies a sense of belonging. They share with each other and those around them. It has opened up a world of discussion and allowed the girls to share their fears, hopes, and dreams. As a part of the book, we have launched Girl Talk 101; which is a monthly meeting in which the girls get together and share their favorite parts. The girls openly discuss how the stories make them feel.

The girls are able to listen to one another, get another point of view and receive a learning far beyond my expectation. Your donation has provided not just a physical blessing, but also a mental blessing, that is causing the girls to evolve to a higher level. The maturity and dedication during our talks is more spectacular than I could have every expected.

On behalf of the young ladies of Vision, my co-sponsor and myself I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your donation has made my dream a reality and I am forever grateful.

With gratitude,
Ms. W.

Dear Causecast, Sheila Jenca, Susan Goldberg, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Anonymous Donor,
I am beyond amazed by the depths of your generosity. Your gift has enabled some young women to gain an important opportunity; that will enable them to grow mentally, physically and emotionally. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the young ladies in the group. This book will provide insight into a world the girls thought only surrounded them. This will give the girls a chance to know that they are not alone in their feelings, that they will one day overcome and learn to tell others about it.

Receiving donations of this sort reinforce the idea that it takes a village to raise a child, I thank you for being a part of this village.

With gratitude,
Ms. W.
