Every student deserves to learn to read. I teach 3rd grade and will be doing Walk to Read with the lowest readers in all three classes.

My school is starting Walk to Read this year. Basically, it is a way of grouping students so that we can teach them at their ability. I will be teaching the lowest level readers in third grade. Since this is our first time teaching this way we don't have all the materials we need in order to ensure success for all students.

After teaching a whole group reading lesson I pull small reading groups. During small group time the rest of the class is working independently. It's very hard for struggling readers to work independently. A book on CD library is a great way to show what fluent readers sound like. This would be one center they'd have to visit each week.

We all remember learning to read. Your gift will give my students the confidence they need to become stronger readers.
