"I teach 7th and 8th grade science at a charter school in a high-needs community of Maryland. The students at this school love to learn and are very excited for science class.

This is my first year at this school. It is a growing school and with the additional students, brings the need for additional supplies.

I am asking for materials that will help me show them all the interesting aspects of science and give the students authentic science experiences. That way they can grow to enjoy science and not just think it's another boring class they have to take.

Your help with getting my students the visual aids and supplies needed will help them realize how exciting and educational science is and that it is part of our everyday life. Thank you!

My students need an overhead projector, a periodic table wall chart, a political globe, 25 pairs of safety goggles and a Typical Animal and Plant Cells Slide Set.

Dear Christine, Tyler, Kathleen & Greg, Alan, Mrs. Mickelson, M. Giant and M. Edium and Anonymous Donor,

On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for your generous donation of the science equipment, overhead projector and visual aids to my class.

Our school is growing and our budget is tight for the basic needs for my science class, so everything you have given will help the student tremendously. Giving the students the chance to work with and study areas of science most have never heard of, let alone seen, is great. With this equipment, I will be able to do more class demonstrations and the students will be able to experiment more now that we have safety goggles. The overhead projector is such an important tool to use for the visual learners. Now I can show those students examples of what I am teaching in my lesson. We are also grateful for the globe and periodic table, both which will be used by the students often.

Many of my students plan on going to college and some have expressed interest in going into a science field. Giving the students the chance to experience working with such great science equipment keeps them level or above level with other schools in the state and country.

Thank you again.

With gratitude,
Ms. F.
