Through all kind of weather, my second grade class travels from their building, in a church basement, to the main building across the street. Our building is also shared with 3 other second grade classes and they all are anxious to learn. Our walls are posted with projects that the students are very proud of.

All supplies and resources for our building are located across the street, more that one-half block away. This includes the administrators, the nurse, and many other people that serve our children. If we need to copy materials for the students we have to go to the main building. Many times my second graders are disappointed because the machine is broken or unavailable. In the excitement of getting the students to the main building, sometimes sheets or papers may be forgotten and the children miss a planned lesson or homework sheets. This makes them sad, because they are proud of their work and love to display it.

It will be beneficial to all the second grade students to have at least a small copier machine in the building. This will give the second grade teacher a chance to collaborate and plan better lessons and projects for students. The children will be able to take more practice and reteach sheet home to help them retain information learned in the classroom.

These students are already losing valuable classroom instructional time each day traveling back and forth across the street to their classrooms. Your gift will enhance student learning, and put a smile on their little faces. Please help us level the learning field.
