"I am the school library media specialist in a high-need area of Nevada that has been hit especially hard by the foreclosure crisis currently looming in our nation. Many of my students have parents serving overseas, live in foster homes, have special needs, and are homeless.

Cuts hurt. And as one of the largest school districts in the country, we've felt the cuts and their after-effects terribly. Budgets have been trimmed, essential positions have been eliminated, and the children experience the brunt.

I am responsible for teaching informational literacy and technology skills to more than 750 students with only 7 computers available to me in our library media center. In a world where 21st century literacy skills are paramount to the future success of our children, it is absolutely critical to expose them to the internet, computers, social media, and other technology-related concepts so they can learn how to safely handle themselves, as well as see the utility of such innovations. Without the proper equipment, it is virtually impossible to fulfill the needs of my school's students for the 21st century.

Your generosity helps ensure that my students are receiving valuable, relevant, and well-rounded educational experiences while under my care in the school library media center. HIDE

My students need one classroom set of Netbook mini computers with wireless access, one Elmo document camera, six iPod touch units, one Netbook storage cart, and six digital cameras. The cost of this proposal is $24,877, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
