Welcome to our world of learning! My kindergarten students are always using their colorful imaginations to learn. From Phonics to Math, to Social Studies and Science, these Kindergarten students never let the fact that they are in a high-poverty area discourage their love for learning.

My students are presently forced to sit on a very old carpet that has been in our classroom for many, many years. The older version has seen various accidents causing lots of stains, tears and raveling of the edges. At present, our class has to be creative and tape the edges so that our shoes do not get stuck in the strings, causing trips and falls. The colors are no longer a bright rainbow of colors and many of the squares have a mix of colors from trying to clean various stains.

A new, colorful carpet would not only brighten our room to make learning even more fun for my Kindergarten students, but would also provide a safe, clean and manageable place for all students to be able to sit during our whole group time. Because this carpet has large colorful blocks, each student could be assigned to a square with lots of room around them. The design of this carpet also allows for other learning activities to take place, such as graphing (a favorite of my class), color learning and patterns.

So, with your help and support, you will make it possible for my students to have a clean and vivid place to gather everyday to continue their love for learning. Your donations would also ensure that our classroom remains a safe learning environment for all students.
