"Plain Jane or pumped up and exciting? This is the question that I ask my web page design class students each day. This class, which is in a small, rural school in Oklahoma, is responsible for creating and maintaining the school web site. The students that are currently enrolled in this class range from 9th grade - 12th grade. Although their creative sides are peaked during the 50 minute period each day, for some of these students, it is the only time they can express themselves. This class is made up of not only regular education students, but also students who have been identified as students with special needs and have an Individualized Education Plan.

To create exciting and personal web pages that the student body and parents enjoy looking at, certain equipment is needed. Anyone can put text on the page, but when the winning shot at the basketball game is uploaded the following morning, everyone wants to be the first online to see it. It's better than going out for the morning paper! This type of exciting site is impossible without the proper equipment.

A digital camera and card reader will allow students to use the resources they have to take pictures themselves and then create and personalize pages using those pictures. This will give them the opportunity to make the site more appealing. A scanner would also be very beneficial. If a parent or staff member takes pictures with their personal camera and has a hard copy print, these pictures could also be scanned and used on the site. This allows for community involvement, which is essential in small schools.

By committing to help my students, you are giving them the power to be creative, independent, and successful. They will not only learn essential skills for today's technology in creating a website, but also other creative outlets such as photography and digital creation. By choosing my students, you are opening the door to success and possible future careers. HIDE

My students need 1 digital camera, 1 digital card reader, and 1 scanner to learn how to successfully create and maintain a web site that is appealing to viewers. The cost of this proposal is $905, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."
