"Well, they're hungry! Hungry for reading that is." I'm a teacher in a Chicago school who teaches two wonderful yet rambunctious groups of third graders, who are overwhelmingly hooked on reading.

I search everywhere to find motivating activities to keep the spark in their interest. I use all types of incentives to encourage reading and find that my students are always looking for more.

Recently, when I saw the promotion for the new movie, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs", I immediately knew what to do next. My plan is to share the book experience with students as we make plans to view the movie after completing the book. We will make predictions as we read together. We will also summarize, make inferences, and identify the main ideas. Finally, we will then make a comparison of the text to the movie.

If you could help to make this possible by donating a copy for each student to read and share with others, we would be forever grateful. The joy that you would bring to this project would be phenomenal. So let the meatballs begin to rain from the sky as we take a bite of a classic book.
