"Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right! If my 11th and 12th grade psychology students grasp this statement, it will make their paths after high school much easier to navigate. Despite the size of the school they are coming from, they need to believe that anything is possible.

Many of my students have dreams of attending colleges and universities across the country, entering the military, or pursuing their dream jobs, but many don't take the necessary steps. Coming from a small community, many of these students find it intimidating to move beyond their comfort zone. They need to know that their goals, however grand they seem, can be realized.

Having 35 copies of Dr. Pauch's book "The Last Lecture" will allow my students to read his inspiring words. It would provide them some momentum for their post-secondary journey, whether it be in the direction of college, a job, or the armed services. I am confident that his experiences will make a difference in their lives as well.

Your help with this project will allow my students to begin on the path to achieving their individual dreams. They need to realize, just as Randy Pausch did, that anything is possible. While my students may not face the same challenges and obstacles that he did, his story will inspire them not just to dream, but to make their dreams a reality through commitment and hard work.

My students would benefit greatly from individual copies of the inspirational book, "The Last Lecture" by Professor Randy Pausch.

Dear silas, Jami, Mary, PATRICIA, Jim and Carolyn M, Cathy, Joe, Marc and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,

I cannot fully express my appreciation for your kind donation to my project, "Really Achieving Your Dreams." I cannot wait to share this truly inspiring account with my high school students in our psychology class.

In the book, the author, Randy Pausch, discusses intriguing events from his life, relays experiences that have impacted him, and describes relationships that made him the unique individual he was. I hope that exposing my students to his words will help them to see that anything is possible and that really achieving your dreams can happen with hard work and determination.

Thank you again for helping me to give my students a motivational edge as they leave high school and enter the world beyond.

With gratitude,
Ms. M.

" My dad used to tell us (all of us are around 60 yrs old now) "you'll never learn any younger".The same applies to following your dreams and pushing past difficulties. You are never too young or too old to work towards your dreams! "

"I gave to this project because my family used to have a cabin in your area. The area is amazing and the kids there shouldn't feel they don't have the same opportunity just because they aren't in a metro area. "
