"Technology is one of the most important skills for the future. Young or old, technology is an important part of our society and we must all learn how to use it. I teach a diverse group of first grade students both ethnically and economically. Many of them do not have access to computers at home and cannot benefit from educational opportunities which can only be accessed via computer.
With limited computer access at home some students have very little exposure to computers. At this point students only have access to the school computer lab for testing. We have no student computers in the classroom to enhance learning or give extra practice. We have many great on-line resources provided by our school. Having a laptop computer would be beneficial because it is self-contained, would not take up much space, and can be locked up for safe keeping when not in use. Not only would the computer provide valuable educational experiences for quick learners and struggling learners, but it would also provide motivation for reluctant learners. You will make it possible for my students to learn through technology in a way that is not possible now. HIDE My students need a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop computer, mouse, and headphones.
