Inspiring children to have a love for reading is what I feel necessary to accomplish in order to raise our literacy scores on the state test. It is my job to stay abreast of the newly published books and then make them available for our students to read and enjoy.

The majority of our students do not have the resources available to purchase grade level appropriate books and our funds at school are limited. We have started a "StarBooks Cafe" which gives the children the opportunity to participate in Literature Circles, but we are limited on books that we can use for this purpose.

The sets of books that we want to purchase will make available grade level appropriate books for them to read and discuss when they come to our "StarBooks Cafe". This will help increase their love for reading and therefore help increase their literacy test scores.

Your help will make it possible for our students to have the resources needed in order to make our Literature Circles meeting in our "StarBooks Cafe" a great success.
