My students need a digital camera to take individualized and creative photos, a memory stick to store photos and to transfer them to the computer, 28 do-it-yourself calendars to personalize, and ink cartridges to print out their photos.

We are a fun-loving, third-grade group of students from a high poverty school in Southern Illinois.

Our third grade class has limited opportunities to engage in technological, computer-based projects due to a lack of materials and computers in our school. Teachers must have private fundraisers with their students in order to generate money for extra materials and fund special projects.

Mrs. May's Monthly Madness will give twenty eight students the opportunity to create personalized calendars using technology in creative and individual ways. Students will plan the types of backgrounds and settings they would like to incorporate into their calendars. They will become familiar with taking digital photography, downloading the photos into a photo software suite and printing them for use in their creations. The calendars that are produced will become a Christmas gift to their family.

Your contribution to this project will not only help the students this year, but will provide a digital camera that may be used for the classroom website and future projects.
