I teach in a gifted and talented classroom with 1st-5th grade students who have high potential for their future.

Many people think that gifted children already know it all. Gifted teachers need to find creative ways to capture their students' attention and expand their creativity. This is my first year as a gifted teacher after 10 years in a regular classroom, so I am looking for new ideas. I am trying to piece together my new classroom just like a puzzle. Even though our school just started a few weeks ago, I have already seen a huge need for this document camera. Technology is an enormous puzzle piece for the classroom.

I have used a document camera in a previous classroom, and it allows me to be very spontaneous. This camera will be used to show illustrations, follow along while reading, analyze graphs, research information, and much more. This camera does not require previous work like an overhead transparency. It will allow students to look at the most current information rather than a few years old on an overhead transparency.
