I teach two classes of Language Arts and Social Studies in a Title I school in Oklahoma. Each day I see 44 fourth grade students!

Native American heritage is a huge part of the culture and history of Oklahoma. Along these lines, the students in my class need to understand their culture and history. We need the resources to know about the legends and tales that have been passed on through generations, we also need the supplies to create projects that will honor the tribes that we will study. One of the main fourth grade Social Studies objectives has to do with the Native Americans that lived here.

The majority of the resources I am requesting are books that tell Native American Tales & Legends. I am also asking for supplies to do art projects, games, and other various activities. Each student will also create their own tale or legend to share!

By funding this project, you will make it possible for my students to learn even more about the rich history and culture that make up our state! This is a great opportunity for my students to take pride in our state!
