"My students are inner city high risk students, grades 7 and 8, along with one class of students who are considered "over/under" age for the grade they are in. Many are still looking for a focus in their lives. Almost all of my students are eager to draw. I have purchased an exciting book titled, "How to draw hip-hop" Which is a wonderful how to draw guide that covers all the basics in a contemporary genre. They are chomping at the bit to start using these books. Having sketch books will allow them to keep their drawings together, and see their own progress. A sketch book is the classic way to develop as an artist. Even if the students never become artists they will have a better understanding of how an artist works and develops. Who knows you might be responsible for creating the next Picasso, Van Gogh, or Keith Harding. Or perhaps you will simply start a life long interest and hobby that will enrich the students. Juliette Aristide, noted artist says "art is a finite set of skills with infinite applications". Perhaps your donation will provide infinite inspiration.
My students need 140 sketchbooks.

Dear Bill, Kris & Marc, Mary and Karen,
I cannot express my gratitude to you for helping fund my sketch book project, the cost of these sketchbooks exceeds my entire budget for the year, so without your help I would never have been able to provide my students with this essential item. I can hardly wait to see the excitement in their eyes when they get their very own sketch diaries...this will be their first step on an interesting and fulfilling journey that can last a life time. Thanks for your help putting them on that road. With gratitude, Ms. K.

"The "Bet Red" drive from tomatonation.com moved me to give, but *you* all inspired me. The school years are so very important in forming what you'll become, and I want you to have every opportunity possible to grow up healthy and dreaming. I don't want a lack of funding to keep you from exploring your futures. You *matter,* and I'm giving the funds to prove it!"
